Thanks a lot for helping out, I'm aware a lot of people out there think it's funny to put flashes into the wrong category so it's great to hear that someone is trying to correct this! Your single attempts to remove a flash from an improper category SHOULD have effect, and the category index should be updated within an hour to reflect your categorizations. However it all depends on how many votes that have been cast for a flash into a category. If two people think it belongs in a certain category vs one that think it doesn't, then it remains in that category. But one IP doesn't always just have one vote, if the IP has been categorizing flashes for a long time it is given more votes. I did this because people that want to help the site often stick around to categorize more than those that wish the index to be bad. That way if three people thinks it is funny to put a flash into the wrong category they can be out-voted by just one good loyal person. Of course this could be a problem if someone that keep categorizing badly sticks around for a long time. Then his bad categorizations is given more weight than your good ones, if you are new to this. I COULD counter this by removing vote-weight from a IP that has had other IPs counter-vote its votes but at the time of making the system I felt I was putting too much effort into it already so I skipped that part. If you aren't seeing your categorizations stick it could also be a bug. Do you have a couple of links to some flashes that you want to remove from the gay category but that hasn't been removed from it? I can check the system to see if it registered your votes properly. I have an "anti-cheat" thing in place and it's possible that it picked up your categorizations incorrectly (then I'll try to fix the bug and re-insert your votes into the database). |
