Glad to hear it wasn't anything serious. the people at the data center probably spilled somthing somewhere during some sort of company christmas party. probably involving booze and the old "we can do it in here, no one will find us in the server room"

at least thats what I'm imagining now. prior to this I was imagining several other outcomes like:

1: Ants had family over suddenly and had to shut down something critical to the site to prevent someone seeing what he does with his life :P

2: Ants fell asleep on keyboard with a beer in hand and it spilled.

I should have remembered not many big sites are self hosted. Now I can mentally blame it on server staff.

i did this ping thing:

and i guess each one of those dropped packets is a page load that would've hanged
